The Rev. Canon Michael E. Ellis
Fr. Michael Ellis is a native Floridian and began serving as a priest in the Diocese of Florida in 1981. He has served parishes in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Nashville, TN. In 2005, he became the second rector of St. Francis.
Married to Joan, Fr. Michael has two adult children and three grandchildren.
Fr. Michael studied at Florida Junior College at Jacksonville (now Florida State College at Jacksonville), Florida State University, and received his Masters of Divinity at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL.
Fr. Michael enjoys fishing and hunting and chooses walking the dog and bicycling for fitness.
The Rev. Ian McCarthy
Fr. Ian McCarthy grew up in Tallahassee and was ordained as a priest in 2008. He is a cradle Episcopalian and actually knew Fr. Michael as his parish priest through his childhood and teen years. Fr. Ian has served churches in Florida and Pennsylvania as a layperson and in Southern California, Virginia Beach, and Southeast Florida as a priest. He joined the clergy team of St. Francis-in-the-Field in January, 2016. He has a great heart for youth and children’s ministry as well as the renewal movement in the mainline church.
Fr. Ian is married to Nikki and they have three young boys: Samuel, James, and Asher. In their down time, you can find the McCarthys enjoying the beach, eating sushi, hiking, watching movies or taking the occasional day trip to Disney World.
Fr. Ian received his undergraduate education at the University of Florida. He received his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
The Reverend Deacon Linda Rosengren was ordained in the Diocese of Central Florida in December, 1997. Before coming to St. Francis in September, 2012, she served churches in Winter Park, FL and Jacksonville, FL. Linda holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and taught for 15 years in the public school system. She left teaching in 1987 for her new roles in Christian Education. She is now employed as a Chaplain and Coordinator of Bereavement Services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville. She is certified in Thanatology by the Association for Death Education and Counseling.
Linda is married to Gar Rosengren. They have two sons, Kevin and Brent; two lovely daughters-in-law; and four adorable grandchildren.
